- [Properties]
-
- Praseodymium is a silvery-white, fairly soft, malleable, and ductile
- metal. It is moderately reactive in air, developing a green oxide coating
- that eventually falls away to expose fresh metal for further oxidation.
- The metal is quite reactive in water as well, generating some heat and
- hydrogen gas.
- Praseodymium, aside from being a rare-earth metal, is also a member of
- the lanthanide series of elements - a series that beings with lanthanum
- (element 57) and ends with lutetium (element 71)
